Your online learning experience will be greatly enhanced if you have the correct software and the latest versions of the following installed.
This is what you use to view pages on the Internet and hence QMplus. We recommend using either Google Chrome or Firefox although other browsers do work well too like Safari and Internet Explorer. If you find that pages are not working or displaying properly then try another. Also make sure you have the latest versions of you browser. Here are links to Google Chrome and Firefox
Adobe Acrobat Reader
Acrobat Reader is required to view many of the documents on QMplus. If you can see the PDF document below then you have it installed. If not then click on this link https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/
Adobe Flash is required to view some content on QMplus.
Please note: Adobe Flash does not work on iOS devices like iPhones, iPads and iPod touch, where possible we have added alternatives for these devices.
If you can see the video below then you have Flash installed, there is no sound on this video. If you do not see it then you need to install it, click on this link to install https://get.adobe.com/uk/flashplayer/
QuickTime may also be required to watch some video content. If you do need it then you can download it from here http://www.apple.com/quicktime. If you are using a Mac it should be built in.
If you are a distance learning student you may be required to attend some online tutorials. It is required that you use headphones as using speakers causes feedback and interferes with the smooth running of these tutorials. If your computer does not have a built in microphone then you may need to get one if the tutor wants you all to chat.
Adobe Connect is the system we use and will automatically load when you get the link for the tutorial. The first time you use it you may be required to load an add-in, this is quick and easy and will be done automatically when you confirm to load it.
Use the guest option to join the meeting room and use your name, do not attempt to login using your QMplus login.
Adobe Connect is available for a range of mobile devices too and is free. Simply go to your app store, search for it and install. The best experience is using a computer or laptop but these work well too. If you are using a mobile please watch your data allowance.
