Paid work in the school of geography for undergrads

The School of Geography has a 10 posts of paid opportunities for undergraduate geographers . The posts offer interesting and rewarding work paid at £10 per hour for approx. 30 hours in total per post.

The Springboards Project needs four undergraduate geographers to write blogs and design a programme of interesting and fun events to welcome next year's first years to the department. This work will be  done remotely over July and August and then 'full on' working in  a team , in the School of Geography, during Freshers week . There will be further light touch time commitment throughout the autumn term .The full job spec can be downloaded from the Qtemps website at : http://tempjobs.london.ac.uk/QueenMary/Vacancies/VacancyDetails.asp?VacancyID=4526 . The job title is  Social media and events coordinator. The closing date is Weds 11th May and interviews will be held immediately after the exam period.

We also need to recruit 6 people to work as mentors for the Stepping Stones Project next academic year. You would go out into local schools and each work with a small group of A Level students. The work is a mixture of mentoring and tutoring. The theme of the work  is around globalisation but full training and help with all aspects of preparation is provided to post holders. It is more important that you are reliable and enthusiastic than an expert in the academic content at this stage.

The main work for this project ( 6 posts ) is not until the period Jan - March 2017 but as we require you to apply for a DBS check and this can be quite slow so we are recruiting early. This post is listed as Events organisation and mentoring and the job spec can be found at http://tempjobs.london.ac.uk/QueenMary/Vacancies/VacancyDetails.asp?VacancyID=4527

The closing date for all posts is Weds 11th May and interviews will be held immediately after the exam period

You are welcome to apply to work on both projects. Applications direct to QTEMPS
