3D printing: message on behalf of Mr Dennis Ife

Dear All
I have had two students in G23 today requiring 3D printing, there seems to be two rumours  about the machine and use of the machine.
·         Firstly the students have to pay for 3D printing….. The work request does requires a budget code and often the £5 an hour charge is used for’ project budget’ reasons. We haveNEVER charged directly to the students. Word is going around that they have to pay directly for the service. I have had one student who has cut his build because of this.
·         There is a 2 month wait for work to be done, this is NOT the case at this point in time. There have been occasions where there has been a long wait, however as I say, NOT at this point in time.
Please find enclosed a copy of the sheet we give students to assist them in the 3D printing process.
Kind regards
Dennis Ife
