About EBU6569: Microwave Electronics
The module provides an in-depth knowledge of the principles and practice of microwave electronics and examines the principles of operation of microwave systems such as two and three terminal active and passive microwave devices. The focus is also on certain appropriate circuit analysis techniques, fundamentals of circuit noise and microwave measurements, leading to the design of simple microwave systems.
The course provides students with a detailed understanding of transmission line analysis and design. The physics of operation and mathematical models of common two and three terminal active devices are provided. Experimental experience of standard microwave measurement methods are provided along with experience in using a microwave circuit CAD tool. Students completing the course will be able to design simple microwave systems.
